A team of first-year architecture students lays out their structural components in Poly Canyon ahead of Cal Poly’s annual Design Village competition. This year’s theme, “Synthesis,” encouraged teams to create a captivating sensory experience integrated into the natural environment. After carrying materials for a mile to the build site and assembling more than 50 novel structures, students spent two nights in their dwellings.
