Thankful for Friendship

A group of alumni celebrate 40 years of Thanksgiving gatherings.

For decades, Doug (Business Administration ’86) and Lori Kramer (Business Administration ’86) have been gathering with their best friends and fellow alumni the weekend before Turkey Day for what they call “Cal Poly Thanksgiving.”

“Most travel from the Bay Area, but some [come] from out of state,” says Lori. “We take turns hosting. The dinners are always formal, complete with roasted turkey and gourmet salads, but eventually evolve into games and dancing.”

During the 40th annual gathering in November, Scott and Lori Emery hosted and even provided custom sweatshirts and glassware.
