And Now…We Experiment

Ladies and gentlemen, here it is: the second issue of the new Cal Poly Magazine. For the most part, you seemed to like what we published last fall in the Food & Wine Issue — so many of you wrote us messages of praise and congratulations, and I’m thrilled with your support.

Now comes the part where we build and fine-tune. Many of you took our survey that gave you an opportunity to give us more detailed feedback than “Keep up the good work,” or “You didn’t mention my restaurant.” As we keep working to make this magazine better, we’re going to keep soliciting your input.

For example, we’re trying something new in this issue. It will be only available online — partially because we want to see how that impacts the type of content we publish, and partially because we want to know whether this format works for you just as well as a print edition. Are you okay with that, or do you want to feel that paper in your hands? Let us know!

Some of your early feedback suggests that you want more content submitted by readers. That sounds great! Do you know an alumnus or student doing interesting work we haven’t heard about yet? Do you have a unique perspective on what it means to be a Mustang? Share your story ideas with us! This is your magazine as much as ours, and we want you to play a big part in the stories we tell.

We’re building this magazine together, so as we enter the experimental phase of the new Cal Poly Magazine, speak up and let us know what you think.

Sincerely,
