The Future’s Renewable
Cal Poly flipped the switch on a 4.5-megawatt solar farm in January, providing almost a quarter of the campus’ energy. The 16,000 individual solar panels will save the university $17 million in the next two decades. In the meantime, sheep from the Animal Science Department tend to the surrounding vegetation.
